Unlocking your Trane Thermostat

At Poorman’s Heating and Air Conditioning, it’s no secret that we only use the best of the best when it comes to providing you with service and products to help your home perform better on the coldest of nights or the hottest of days. For heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems we use and trust are none other than Trane.  Believe it or not, Trane products are used in famous landmarks including the Statue of Liberty and the Washington Monument.

If you’ve had a Trane HVAC system installed in your home, you may have the option of locking your thermostat in order to prevent changes from others. This feature is great, until you’re ready to unlock it after a long period of time and happen to forget exactly how.

It’s your lucky day, here’s how to unlock your thermostat:

1) Examine your thermostat and find both the (+) and (-) buttons.

2) Put one finger on the (+) and one finger on the (-) button.  Press these buttons at the same time.

3) Hold both buttons down for approx. five seconds and then release. Your thermostat should now be unlocked.

It’s easier than you remembered, right? Don’t hesitate to return to this blog once summer arrives and you’re ready to crank up the air conditioning!
